These reviews distinguish my paid work and application experience from advertised
rates and other workers' reports. Some links pay me a referral bonus. Full

**I applied to two Ethos (AskEthos) AI reviewer roles in August 2026, both
advertised at $150/hour.** As of September 12, I have not received a hiring outcome
or completed paid tasks. This page covers my applications, the rates I could see,
and one referred educator's experience.

## My applications and current status

| Role | Applied | Advertised rate | Dashboard status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Data Scientist - AI Reviewer | August 9, 2026 | $150/hour | Interested; in the Active tab |
| Software Engineer - AI Reviewer | August 10, 2026 | $150/hour | Interested; at Review |

The software engineer application says my application is complete and the team
is reviewing my fit. Its progress tracker highlights **Review**, before Outcome.
That status is not an offer or a promise of paid work. The screenshot does not
show the detailed progress tracker for the data scientist application.

I have been waiting about a month. I cannot yet review Ethos's task experience,
work availability, or payments for my own work. The $150/hour figures describe
those specific opportunities, not a rate I have earned.

## What I know from someone I referred

One person I referred reported earning **about $7,000 over a month** in an educator
role at **$80-$120/hour**. A dashboard entry for an Educator / School Professional
opportunity records $7,000+ for August 10 through
September 9, 2026. That provides supporting platform-recorded evidence for the
approximate monthly figure they shared.

The entry is not the educator's bank receipt, and it does not show their total
hours or establish their effective hourly rate. The hourly range remains their
reported rate. These are another worker's results, not my task earnings or an
estimate of what a typical applicant makes.

**Referral disclosure:** I may receive compensation when someone I refer completes
qualifying work through Ethos. That relationship applies to the educator example
above. See my [referral disclosure](/disclosure).

One encouraging outcome does not establish the usual acceptance rate or amount of
work available. My own applications are still pending.

## What a public Ethos listing actually says

On September 12, 2026, I checked Ethos's official
[software, AI, IT and data opportunity](https://agent.askethos.com/opportunities/software-ai-it-data-generalist).
It advertised **$80/hour**, a flexible commitment of **5–20 hours per week**, and an
AI voice screen. It sought applicants with at least four years of relevant
professional experience for work involving AI-generated documents, spreadsheets,
and presentations.

This is a specific advertised opportunity, not a platform-wide pay rate. It is also
a different role from the educator work reported by my referral. The listing does
not establish what I would earn or whether I would be selected.

## What I would check before taking a project

Before setting aside work time, I would want the actual offer to explain:

- Which onboarding and assessment steps are paid.
- Whether payment depends on time worked, accepted tasks, or another condition.
- The review process, payment schedule, and available workload.
- Any requirements about tools, confidentiality, and outside work.

I do not yet have firsthand answers to those questions for Ethos. My experience on
[Alignerr](/alignerr-review) is one reason I pay attention to accepted-task terms:
an hourly figure alone does not explain which hours qualify for payment.

## Where Ethos fits in my application priorities

I would consider a closely matching Ethos listing, especially for an experienced
professional whose background fits its requirements. I would not plan around the
reported $7,000 month or pause other applications while waiting for a reply.

For comparisons grounded in my own paid work, start with
[micro1](/micro1-review), [DataAnnotation](/dataannotation-review), or
[my platform comparison](/ai-training-platforms-compared). I will update this page
if my own Ethos application moves forward and I have more to report.

## Frequently asked questions

**Have I completed paid AI training work on Ethos?**

No. I applied for Data Scientist - AI Reviewer on August 9, 2026, and Software Engineer - AI Reviewer on August 10. Both listed $150/hour. As of September 12, I have no hiring outcome or paid-task experience to report.

**How much does Ethos pay for AI training?**

Both AI reviewer roles I applied for listed $150/hour. A separate public technical role advertised $80/hour. One referred educator reported $80-$120/hour and about $7,000 over a month, supported by a dashboard base-payment entry. These are distinct examples, not a typical-pay estimate or my task earnings.

**Does Ethos require an interview?**

The official software, AI, IT and data opportunity includes an AI voice screen. Check the requirements for the particular role you apply to.
