Alignerr is worth adding to the stack if one of its specific roles matches you. But to be honest, it has some problems. When I have a active contract there, the task volume is pretty high, there is always a task waiting for me. But there are many pay-per-task roles and many no pay on failure tasks, meaning it can sometimes feel like gambling if you will be paid for your work. The work on the projects I have had has also been tedious and is not as interested or fun as other platforms.
The bigger catch is getting on in the first place. Passing the initial application is not
the hard part. Plenty of people clear that and then stall at the project evaluation stage
and never make it onto paid work. You can also only keep about 7 applications active at
once, and they can sit in limbo for a long time before anything happens. Project managers
are not very communicative either.
My default advice is simple: pick the most specific roles you can honestly pass. If you
are a software engineer, do not apply as a finance expert. If you have finance modeling
experience but only light Python, do not oversell yourself as a senior coding evaluator.

onto a paying project after the evaluation stage is where most people stall out.
- **Limited application slots.** You can only keep about 7 applications active at once, and
they can sit in limbo for a long time with no movement.
- **The work is tedious.** Volume is usually there when you are on a project, but the tasks
are not as engaging or as high-quality as what I get on other platforms.
- **Quiet project managers.** PM communication is weak, so you often have to chase status
and figure things out yourself.
- **Specialization.** This is not the first platform I would send a general beginner to
unless one of the roles is an obvious match.

Once you are on a project, the money shows up.
